Lower Bucks Hospital consistently achieves ‘A’ ratings in Hospital Safety from the Leapfrog Group

The latest grade for Fall 2024 highlights the hospital’s dedication to ensuring patient safety on a national level

Bristol, PA (November 22, 2024)– Lower Bucks Hospital, part of Prime Healthcare, has been awarded an “A” Hospital Safety Grade by The Leapfrog Group, a respected independent nonprofit organization dedicated to enhancing patient safety. Leapfrog evaluates general hospitals nationwide, assigning grades from “A” to “F” based on more than 30 performance metrics that assess errors, accidents, injuries, infections, and the preventive measures hospitals implement.

In addition to this outstanding recognition, Lower Bucks Hospital has once again earned an ‘A’ Hospital Safety Grade for the second consecutive time, encompassing both the Spring and Fall of 2024. This remarkable achievement sets Lower Bucks Hospital apart as the only facility within a 10-mile radius to receive this honor, surpassing seven other hospitals in the area that did not achieve an ‘A’ rating in the Fall 2024 Hospital Safety Grade awards.

“Our ‘A’ grades from The Leapfrog Group affirm our unwavering commitment to providing safe, high-quality care,” stated Michael Motte, CEO of Lower Bucks Hospital. “This honor is a testament to the dedication of our entire healthcare team to ensure our patients experience outstanding care in the safest environment possible.”

Motte further emphasized, “Receiving this top rating for two consecutive years showcases our unwavering commitment to providing exceptional care to our community.”

Over the last year, 85 percent of Prime hospitals earned “A” ratings from The Leapfrog Group.

“Achieving an ‘A’ Hospital Safety Grade is a significant accomplishment for Lower Bucks Hospital,” said Leah Binder, president and CEO of The Leapfrog Group. “It reflects enormous dedication to your patients and their families, and your whole community should be proud. I extend my congratulations to Lower Bucks Hospital, its leadership, clinicians, staff and volunteers for their tireless efforts to put patients first.”

The Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade stands as the only hospital ratings program focused solely on preventable medical errors, infections and injuries that kill more than 500 patients a day in the United States. This program is peer-reviewed, fully transparent and free to the public. Grades are updated twice annually, in the fall and spring.
