New Family Medicine Physician Joins BMC Medical Group at Lower Bucks Hospital

Bristol, PA (11/01/2021)– Rita K. George, DO., board-certified in family medicine, has joined BMC Medical Group at Lower Bucks Hospital.

Dr. George specializes in a wide variety of conditions, and injuries. She treats significant diseases and conditions including cold and flu, asthma and allergies, ear and eye infections, diabetes, high blood pressure, minor wound care, and muscle tears and sprains.

“I am incredibly excited to work at Lower Bucks Hospital’s Community Health Center and thankful for the opportunity to join the BMC Medical Group team,” said Dr. George. “I am looking forward to forming lasting relationships with my patients and giving back to the community.”

Dr. George graduated with honors from Villanova University, in, PA in 2012 with a Bachelor of Science in Biology. While at Villanova, she was a laboratory assistant in cell biology and physiology. After completing her undergraduate degree, she received her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine at Lincoln Memorial University-DeBusk College of Osteopathic Medicine, in Harrogate, Tennessee in 2018. Dr. George completed her Family Medicine Residency at Lonesome Pine, in Big Stone Gap, VA., in June 2021. While in residency, she was working at Wellmont Physician Services (currently called Ballad Health) as a resident physician.

While in school, Dr. George volunteered at Abington Memorial Hospital in Abington, PA, as a pre-medical volunteer, attending weekly seminars with physicians and shadowed physicians and physician assistants in the emergency department and in surgery. She also volunteered with Abington Memorial Hospitals Elder Life Program (HELP). Dr. George was also a part of the Rostro De Cristo Mission Trip, in Duran, Ecuador, where she led activities for after-school programs and met with patients living in rehabilitation centers for Hansen’s disease.

Dr. George holds certifications and advanced trainings in emergency medical technicians, FEMA ICS-100 and FEMA ICS-200, pediatric advanced life support (PALS), neonatal resuscitation programs (NRP), basic life support (BLS), and advanced cardiac life support (ACLS).

BMC Medical Group provides high quality preventive, medical management, diagnosis and treatment of general medical conditions, diseases, and disorders.

Dr. George is currently accepting new patients at Lower Bucks Hospitals Community Health Center at 501 Bath Road, 3rd floor, Bristol, PA 19007. She will have office hours on Mondays from 10:00 a.m.-6:00 p.m. and Tuesday-Friday from 8:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m.
