The residency program in Family Medicine at Lower Bucks Hospital is a collaborative effort involving multiple hospital departments/services, affiliated institutions, and private physician practices. These partnerships are crucial in providing comprehensive training and support for residents. Important components of the program include rotations at affiliated family physician preceptor offices, visiting nursing homes, didactic sessions and elective opportunities. Residents benefit from a diverse range of educational resources and training sites in turn enhancing their educational experience each academic year. This structured three-year program consists of required and elective rotations, ensuring a consistent standard of training while accommodating individual interests, strengths, and areas for improvement. Throughout the thirty-six-month program, each resident’s training is allocated to meet the minimum requirements set forth by ACGME:

Practice Management | 20 hours |
Ambulatory Family Medicine (CCC) & Preceptorship | 1000 hours over 3 years will be spent in the CCC |
Longitudinal experience in family medicine continuity clinics, nursing home geriatric care, and community medicine.

Daily schedule on Adult Inpatient Medicine rotation as an FM resident in first year:
- 5:45 AM – 6:00 AM:
- Handover from the night float team
- 6:00 AM – 8:00 AM:
- Resident rounds
- 8:15 AM – 9:00 AM:
- Morning report (protected time)
- 10:00 AM – 10:15 AM:
- Case management rounds
- 10:15 AM – 11:30 AM:
- Attending rounds and discussion
- 12:30 PM – 1:30 PM:
- Noon conference (protected time)
- 1:30 PM – 3:30 PM:
- Continued Patient Care
- 3:30 PM – 4:00 PM:
- Handover to the senior resident and late intern
- 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM:
- Late senior resident and intern manage patient care and hand over care to night float team
