Lower Bucks Hospital Honoring 20th Anniversary of 9/11
Bristol, PA — (September 10, 2021) – Saturday marks 20 years since the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001. This terrorist attack that took the lives of 2,977 men, women and children in New York City, Arlington, Va. and near Shanksville, PA.
The Bucks County community plans to come together at Lower Bucks Hospital’s flagpole to honor the lives lost, as well as those who were injured during the attacks, and the many who rose in service in response. The memorial ceremony will take place on September 10 at 12:00 p.m. at Lower Bucks Hospital, 501 Bath Road, Bristol, PA 19007 at the Lower Bucks Hospital flagpole outside the Main Lobby.
“Twenty years will have passed since our nation was attacked on September 11,” said Michael Motte, chief executive office of Lower Bucks Hospital. “We suffered a great tragedy that day and for the weeks and months that followed. We mourned the victims of the attacks and promised to never forget.”
Lower Bucks Hospital paused to remember the profound sense of common purpose and unity and selflessness that tragedy spurred across the nation. While the years followed have seen the tragedy of that day transformed from shocked headlines into shared history, for survivors, rescue workers, the loved ones of those lost and even a rebuilt New York City, does little to make the memories of that day less vivid.
Motte added, “I’m grateful that the heroism and sacrifice of that most difficult day will be remembered.” “Each anniversary of 9/11, brings a new chance to reflect, grieve, and reconnect with the lessons we learned when our country was at its lowest.”
The public is invited to participate in the ceremony
The 9/11 memorial ceremony tells the story of that tragic day through a collection of speeches and personal stories of loss, recovery, and hope.
