Prime Healthcare Pennsylvania Region Hospitals Give Thanks to Emergency Medical Services Workers During EMS Week

Prime Healthcare Pennsylvania Region (May 17, 2021) – Prime Healthcare Pennsylvania Hospitals Lower Bucks, Suburban Community, and Roxborough Memorial Hospitals are honoring frontline professionals, specifically their work during the pandemic, as part of National Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Week, May 16-22.

Prime Healthcare Pennsylvania Region would like to take this opportunity thank the EMS providers for all that they do. We know that every EMS professional puts in long hours to care for the needs of our community, while helping to carry out the mission of our Hospitals.

National EMS Week, established by presidential proclamation in 1973, is an annual celebration to recognize and appreciate the services provided by paramedics and EMTs in communities across our nation.

“EMS Week is a great time to say thank you to the dedicated men and women in the Philadelphia Region who make saving lives their mission,” said Jacqueline Pester-Babcock, RN, MSN, regional chief nursing officer, Prime Healthcare Region II.

EMS is a key element of our nation’s health care and public safety systems. Every day, 24/7, in every community, EMS responds to patient calls for help in an accident or medical emergency, such as heart attack, stroke, a fall, difficulty breathing, drug overdose or acute illness. As strongly displayed during this pandemic, EMS is a vital component of our nation’s ability to respond to public health crises.

Pester-Babcock added, “Prime Healthcare Pennsylvania Region is truly grateful to our local EMS partners for the specialized care they provide to our community in the field and to our hospitals. Their expertise and medical care contribute directly to the health and well-being of our patients experiencing critical health emergencies.”

These words are not quite sufficient to thank you for the heroic work you do. Please know that we understand how you think on your feet, train tirelessly, comfort our families, risk your own safety, and never leave the side of those in need.

All communities are asked to recognize the heroic efforts of their paramedics and EMTs this EMS Week and to support their local EMS agencies throughout the year.
